Father God,

Today, I pray for meat, not earthly meat on which our teeth chew, but for spiritual meat on which our souls must chew into understanding. I also pray that You would make Your people able to chew upon the meat of the Word that You provide. I pray that we as Your children would be able to feast and grow and bear fruit from that spiritual meat.

Cause us to walk in the ways of spiritual milk that ready us for the meat of becoming more and more Christ-like. Remove from us besetting sins, compromises, deceptions, self-justifications, and anything that hinders our chewing of spiritual meat.

Then let that spiritual meat give strength to our spiritual frames such that we can be conquerors over the fiery arrows, over the storms, over the persecutions, over the spiritual attacks seen and unseen. Give us the strength in Christ to tear down the gates of hell and set captives free from the enemy’s darkness. Cause us to press into the Word holding no part of our lives back from its instruction and submission.
