Father God,

Today, I pray for parents to have the strength and the courage to live out their calling to be godly parents. I pray that You would give parents a clear vision and understanding of what You are calling them to in terms of raising their children up in the fear and admonition of the Lord.

I pray against the distortions of what parenthood is portrayed as by the the world. I pray against the attacks on the family which seek to separate children from the family. I pray against those who believe they know what is best for other people’s children and who are willing to use their power to lead children away from You and away from their parents.

I pray that parents would take up the armor of God not only for themselves, but also for their children’s sakes. I pray that through Your power working in them, You would preserve the next generation from further rebellion against You and Your ways.

Have mercy on us oh Lord and use us as parents to protect the children as they grow up in the midst of the present dark age.
