Father God,

Today, I pray for the parents who are struggling with the demands of work and life on their time as they try to be present with their children. We live in a society which seems to require more and more of our time just to function despite all the advances which promise to give us more time. Instead, we are expected to do more and have to deal more and more with the brokenness of both the poor quality of present day products as well as the brokenness of a society that is forgetting how to relate one to another. With either of these, we are constantly having to fix things that should not have been broken instead of spending time with our children.

In the midst of this pull on our time and energy, our children still need us, still need our guidance, our time, our energy, our love. I pray for all the parents who are pressed between caring for the needs of their family and caring for their children’s hearts. Give us strength. Turn back the tide of society’s demands on us. Multiply our efforts so that we can be the godly parents that our children need from us. Tie the heartstrings of our children to our ours so that we can be Your hands and feet in their lives.
