Father God,

Today, I pray for the body of Christ to be able to love one another well before Your watching eyes and before the eyes of the world. You have commanded us to love one another as You loved us, to love one another to demonstrate to the world that we belong to You, to fulfill the Law of Your Word.

We as the body often fulfill the commands to hold to the Truth of Your Word better than we hold to the command to love one another. Loving Your Word and holding to its doctrines can sometimes be easier than loving one another.

We come up with one reason or another to withhold that love for one another. We tell ourselves these reasons so many times until we forget what loving one another should look like. We come to believe that we are loving well when we really are not.

We are neither obeying the command nor showing the world what real love from our Father looks like. Forgive us. Remove the scales from our eyes. Teach us what love should look like in our day to day lives.
